In which Gene Grabowski blows it. Who knew a stuttering problem could manifest itself so quickly. Gotta love those silly PR people. See 2:24-3:53 of the clip below.
Gene received the "Crisis Communicator of the Year" award in 2007 from PR News and this blurb was written about him in their November 2007 issue:
Prior to Grabowski’s work at Levick, he worked as VP of communications and marketing for the Grocery Manufacturers of America, where he acted as a spokesman for the food industry in Morgan Spurlock’s 2005 documentary Super Size Me. The film blamed obesity largely on fast food corporations.
“My biggest challenge was getting across the idea that individuals and families need to be responsible,” Grabowski says of his role in the film.
Honestly, after watching this clip, "getting across the idea that individuals and families need to be responsible,” seems like the least of Gene's worries. By the time Super Size Me hit theaters, Gene no longer worked for the GMA.

Another Super Size Me sidebar I never noticed until today... homeboy is rocking an Indy shirt.

My pet moth chillin' on the ceiling. Post-microwave.
Ok, this is just one of those random things. I was reheating a cup of tea I had neglected to drink while working today. Halfway through the four-minute microwaving time I noticed a moth in there flappin' around. I didn't really rush to save the moth's life because I figured he'd just be jacked and die any second, or at least croak right after I took him out of the microwave. So I sorta just watched and hoped he didn't fly into my tea. Before you know it, four minutes was up, my tea was scolding hot and the moth just flew the fuck outta that thing when I opened the door... right onto the ceiling.
Shit man, if Laguna Beach moths can survive four minutes in the microwave, I wonder what the toxic New Jersey moths back home can endure. Stay tuned, as I'll probably continue this experiment when I'm back there in two weeks. This experiment will trump Popeyes vs. KFC for sure!

Michael Moore... killin' it. Poor Charlton didn't even see it coming. And to think... he started off so happy to have an NRA member interviewing him.
"Well, we have probably more mixed ethnicity than other countries..."

Some of you may have read this or this. And if so, then you know I owe you this amazing photo of a pair of Oakley sunglasses!

Red fucking murdered it all day... on so many levels. Yes, that's a bleeding cross carved into his chest. And yes, there's a face across his crotch.

Oh but wait... there's so much more:

"It's like they sprinkle crack on KFC." I really dig the way P. Diddy enunciates the word "Popeyes."

Yeah, Fletch!
Where have my updates gone? I bet not many of you have even asked yourselves that. Good. I'm not sooooo entirely narcissistic that I actually think people are holding their breath waiting for my every word on here. Truth is, I've been doing actual work, rather than postulating and diatribing about who is going to wear what skate shoes. Although a decoy cryptic Maloof photo/caption of a certain pro I planted sure did get a lot of people talking. That was a fun experiment. Silly yentas.
The rundown:
Interviews with Hoyle, Reyes, Devine, Tave, Marquis, Slash and Leo (which was almost entirely about him leaving Baker for Toy but will never publish because he didn't want it to... but that's why Leo's rad.) Maybe one day, ages from now, you'll see it here. Speaking of that situation, I have Fletcher and Trapasso interviews that never saw the light of day on etnies.com and The Mag so I'll post 'em here soon.
There's more, but I forget. Been doing this and this. Skate and Create with etnies. Then someone interviewed me for something. Tomorrow is one of the most exciting contests of the year... the Pro Tec Pool Party. I'll see what kind of snarky, provocateur-ish yellow journalism I can provide for all those who thirst for it.
What a gay, pointless post this was... I think it was solely to ease my personal guilt for neglecting my own website...

The search engine phrase "Gino Iannucci jail" has brought people to my site 47 times so far this month. Never had any traffic from that phrase before. Dunno if that's a coincidence or reflective of some current happenings or if some teacher assigned a Gino term paper to an entire class or what... but goddamn... Hope nothing bad went down. I just wanna see the dude skate some more before this life is over. Love that dude.

I'm not really into current events, world affairs or the news... but all this Popeye's drama has me hooked.
